The Arizona utility commission voted Nov. 14 to charge a small monthly fee to customers of the state’s largest utility who are using rooftop solar panels. Read more  about this decision and its possible effect in other states.
The Austin City Council has passed a new resolution requiring half of the city-owned utility’s 200 megawatt solar goal for 2020 to be fulfilled by local solar projects and half of those local projects to distributed installations that are owned or leased by customers. Unfortunately, Austin Energy has just reduced its installation incentive and its value of solar compensation to producers. Read more at Solar Austin .

IREC releases their US Solar Market Trends-2012  “.. more than 90,000 photovoltaic installations were installed in the U.S. with a total capacity of 3.3 GW, a 75 percent increase over installations completed in 2011.”
