This class is an introduction to designing an off-grid system. It is meant for solar enthusiasts looking to capture all of their energy needs. Students will assist in building a fully functioning battery backup system.

First day topics:

* overview of PV fundamentals
* componentry identification and configuration
* wiring a battery bank for your needs
* energy effeciency and saving money

Second day topics:
* sizing your system based on energy calculations
* site evaluation and load analysis
* wiring and installation of array
* system assembly, testing

 

Prerequisites: PV 101 and/or instructor approval
