The 2008 Cool House Tour was an incredible success, so we are very excited about 2009. In 2008 we featured 18 projects showcasing the best of energy efficient design. Included were new and remodeled homes,single family and condominium projects,plus modern and traditional housing. 3,100 attendees (double the number from the previous year!) had the opportunity to talk to architects, builders, contractors and owners. We were especially pleased to feature large scale, in-fill projects that conserved on land use, transportation costs as well as highlighting energy efficient building practices.

How you'll take the tour: 

A guidebook to the locations serves as your ticket and provides directions. They go on sale at both Austin Central Markets and online at this website the first week of June. Each project will have a  full page devoted to its significant features and sustainable highlights, along with photos, so you can choose what you want to see and go at your own pace. Plot your personal tour from the map and directions in the Guidebook.
