1House at a Time-Austin

We are excited to announce our fourth 1House at a Time work event of 2009 on Saturday, April 18 from 9 am to 1 pm. In conjunction with the Green Apple Festival, we will be working on the home of Christine Hayden in East Austin. The following improvements will be made:

Replace old clothes washer with a high efficiency washer
Install rain barrel and downspout
Replace incandescent bulbs with CFLs
Clean refrigerator and freezer coils
Install weather stripping in external doors
Repair and redirect dryer exhaust vent

Anyone interested in volunteering for this work event can find an online sign up form through Planet Green's Green Apple Festival Volunteer Central page: http://planetgreen.discovery.com/work-connect/green-apple.html. Click on Austin "sign up" and you'll find the volunteer opportunities by scrolling down the list of other events until you find 'Home Energy Retrofit'. Click 'Add to Your Events', and scroll down to the bottom and click 'Continue'. After you read the disclaimer, hit 'Continue' again. This will take you to a sign-up form where you will enter your Personal Information, and hit 'Submit'. Registrants should receive a confirmation email from Green Apple Festival. This event is limited to 20 volunteers; once all spots are filled, the system will no longer allow you to register.
