For the past 13 years, HREG members have taught thousands of children about renewable energy through Solar Power-Up, a model solar car education program. This program is typically a one-week course geared at 10-12 year old students and taught in classrooms with the cooperation of local teachers. Solar Power-Up is currently a regular part of the curriculum at four local elementary schools in the Friendswood and Clear Creek school districts.
