NTREG Member Projects - The Tremblay Residence Solar Pool Heating

Solar hot water heating is one of the easiest and cost-effective uses of the sun. The Tremblay family uses the sun to provide heated water for their pool to extend the swimming season. The only electricity required for solar pool heating is for a very small pump to circulate the pool water up to the collectors. Because the system operates with very little water pressure, leaks in a solar pool heating system are virtually nonexistant. A pool cover will help keep the heat in the pool in the winter. If run during the coolest part of each night in the summer, a pool heating system can also help cool the water by dissipating some of the excess heat!
