City of Bedford, Texas Solar Energy Workshop - "Is Solar Energy for You?"

The City of Bedford and the Community Affairs Commission will host an information workshop. Guest speakers will discuss solar power for home and business use. Information about the use of solar energy at the new library will also be discussed. No registration is required for this free program. Open to all, including residents of cities other than Bedford. Seating is limited.

The City of North Richland Hills is sponsoring a two-day Energy Efficiency Fair.. Want to make your home more energy efficient and reduce your utility bills? Stop by the North Richland Hills Energy Efficiency Fair to learn steps you can take to save energy. The fair will take place between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, September 17 and between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 in the Community Room at the North Richland Hills Public Library located at 9015 Grand Avenue. A number of informational booths will be set up and residents can visit one-on-one with energy efficiency specialists. Free weatherization kits will be provided to those attending while supplies last. Applications for financial assistance for home energy audits, major energy efficiency upgrades, as well as weatherization will be available for low income NRH residents. Dallas Green Festival

City of Arlington EcoFest

Ecofest, a free, family oriented event, helps build a sense of community, stimulates environmental awareness, and promotes stewardship across North Texas.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and the fun will continue until 10 pm. The day will be filled with entertainment from local musical talents performing at the Levitt Pavilion.
They will be providing classes on do-it-yourself projects to reduce consumption of natural resources as well as discussions to enlighten North Texans on different environmental issues and what we can do to help reduce, repair and prevent these problems in the future.
The "Solar Shuttle" will provide 100% solar power for the Rock Band competition stage!

American Solar Energy Society National Solar Home Tour

The 15th annual American Solar Energy Society Solar Home Tour is the world's largest grassroots solar event. This event offers you the opportunity to tour innovative green homes and buildings to see how you can use solar energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies to reduce monthly utility bills and help tackle climate change. More than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S.
The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is participating in the 2010 Solar Home Tour. We have nearly 20 solar homes already signed up, and the list is growing! Would you like to see a home that has solar energy equipment insalled? The Solar Home Tour provides the public with an opportunity to see these homes and talk with the homeowners themselves!
